Every part of our Cottonwood Decker trees are manufactured in house. Allowing quality control to be at the highest grade possible. We source the wood locally, forge our own hoops and finish every saddle with a hand sand and application of oil. 

 

Every saddles’ construction begins with a solid cottonwood tree that is manufactured in our shop. Our traditional Decker hoops are made from 3⁄4” cold rolled steel. We have designed them to stand taller than standard saddles. This allows for packers to stow ropes and still have room to work while saddling and hanging panniers. 

 

The hoops are attached with flat head stainless steel screws that are countersunk and fastened to the bars with a recessed ‘T’ nut. The countersunk holes in the underside of the bar are then filled with all­-weather wood filler,  sanded and hand finished with linseed oil.
